Classification of urban districts

Urban districts constitute geographical areas in a municipality. In Norwegian official statistics the term urban district is related to the four largest municipalities Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger.

Urban districts constitute geographical areas in a municipality. In Norwegian official statistics, the term urban district is linked to the four largest municipalities of Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger. From 2020, there were two new districts in Stavanger, and Klæbu municipality is part of the Heimdal district in Trondheim. In addition, boundary adjustments for the two new districts in Stavanger.
