Classification of type of sanction

The standard classifies all criminal sanctions (cf. Chapter 5 of the Penal Code) that are included in the statistics on sanctions. For penal sanctions that include combinations of different types of punishment, the classification shows the most severe type of punishment. At level 2 of the classification, common combinations of penalty types are also shown.
